Coaches

Bob Thrall

Coach Bob Thrall enters his 10th year at Edison coaching JV basketball after coaching at Mater Dei for 12 years and Fountain Valley for 3 years. Coach Thrall loves basketball and looks forward to coaching a group of great boys on the JV team this year. During the off season, Bob and Joan enjoy traveling and spending time with their grandson, Cooper, in Seattle.

Al Hernandez

This is Coach Hernandez’s 10th year as the assistant coach for the freshman team. Al has been a member of the Edison family for over 40 years. He graduated from Edison in 1973 and later returned to coach Edison football prior to starting his career as a law enforcement officer. Al retired from the police department after 23 years of service. He is currently a member of the OCFOA and OCSUA as a certified official for high school football and high school women’s softball. Al lives in Huntington Beach with his wife Maria. All four of their children, Tyler, Valerie, Lacie and Cade attended Edison High School. Al has a granddaughter, Delilah, and a grandson, Max, who will carry on the Charger pride for the family.
